Bernhard Hug lives in Heiligenschwendi, Switzerland with his wife and works for the Swiss Alpine Club (90%) as Head of Ski Mountaineering.
He grew up in Central Switzerland and started ski-mountaineering with his father when he was 14years old. His competitive athletic career started with mountain running and then soon he began with Triathlon. He was for several years in the National Team in Triathlon but soon he fell in love with longer distances.
He possess the highest certification in coaching assigned by the Swiss Olympic Federation (DTA) and has a Bachelor of Science from the San Diego State University (US) in Athletic Training. In 2010 he graduated with his Master Degree at the EHSM in Magglingen (Switzerland) with Specialization in Elite Sports.
Since 2011 I work for the Swiss Alpine Club as a Coach and Manager of Swiss Ski Mountaineering and since 2014 I am Coaches representative with the ISMF.
